What do we do?

National Junior Honor Society (NJHS) chapter membership not only recognizes students for their academic accomplishments, but challenges them to develop further through active involvement in school activities and community service. Five main purposes have guided chapters of NJHS from the beginning: to create enthusiasm for scholarship; to stimulate a desire to render service; to promote leadership; to encourage responsible citizenship; and to develop character in the students of secondary schools. To be eligible for membership a student must maintain a 3.5 GPA or higher for two semesters in Stargate Middle School. Once a student is selected for membership they are expected to maintain their GPA as well as develop the other ideals during their time in NJHS.
